Prayer for Bible Sunday

Bible Sunday, a day set aside in the church calendar to celebrate the gift of God's word, takes place on 30 October this year.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

A prayer for Bible Sunday:

Heavenly Father

Thank you for giving us the Bible.

Thank you that you reveal yourself and your glorious purposes in it and that we can come to know Jesus as our Lord and Saviour through it.

Thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit enabling us to understand your word, to be shaped by it and to share it with others.

Amen.

Thank you for praying with us. We deeply value your intercessions on our behalf as we seek to share God's word at home and around the world.
