Prayer tree leaves: Middle East and North Africa

Bible Society teams are sharing the Bible with those affected by war in the Middle East as they offer Bible-based trauma healing as well as food and other essentials. You can support us in prayer by adding a prayer leaf to our tree. Together, we can support those who need it most.

Merciful God, The Gaza refugees are suffering so much; no clean hospital facilities, no pain killers, no drugs to prevent or treat infections, no one to take the horrors away that will remain in the minds of children for years to come. No homes, and for many no family too. Please help them. Amen.

Heavenly Father, more innocent children have died due to Israeli raids on Rafah, please receive them into your loving care. By enforcing the 1997 Leahy law against the appropriate army divisions that have violated human rights may it change the soldiers’ hearts from hatred and stone. Amen.

Heavenly Father, the civilians who have recently died in the city of Rafah, some of whom were children, may they rest in peace from the horrors of this world. Please help this tragedy to end, and for the people to live in peace. Through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Merciful God, I pray for peace in the Middle East, for warring factions to learn restraint, understanding and patience with one another. To benefit from each other’s diversity, and enhance the Holy Land’s celebration of faith, and culture. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dear Lord, have mercy on the Gaza refugees. Humanitarian aid is waiting for access to help those who are starving and dying of malnutrition. Please help to change the hearts of those blocking accessing. My heart grieves for the refugees. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Merciful God, please help the Holy Land to cease warring and work together to resolve the problems. For them to recognise the international rules and laws, and ‘provisional measures’ to reduce risk of genocide in Gaza. Also, help aid agencies distribute food and medical supplies in Gaza. Amen.

Merciful God, with dispute over the amount of aid trucks entering Gaza, and the bombing of the residential buildings, it is hard to see any light for the refugees in this darkness. Please shine your light on them and give them hope for the future. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Loving God, may the dead people, many of whom were women and children, found in the mass grave at al-Shifa Hospital rest in peace. Some may have been Christians, some not, but they were all loved by you. Help us all to value those different from ourselves. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Merciful God, lots of humans seem to find it difficult to love their neighbours; instead of love there is hatred, instead of peace there is warmongering. Please help us all to overcome these negative actions and follow Christ’s example. Through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear Lord, I still feel displacement and genocide is on the Israeli agenda. In other countries the effects of this war are causing disputes between people, sometimes resulting with those defending the refugees being violently attacked. Have mercy Lord, and stop this war. In Jesus Christ. Amen.

Merciful God, I pray for the refugees in Gaza who are dying of starvation; please help the humanitarian aid workers to get the necessary supplies to the people; for the killing and maiming of innocent people to stop. Through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Merciful God, please help the International Human Rights law to be recognised and obeyed, and bring an end to the violence occurring in Gaza; to enable humanitarian aid groups to function effectively and the residents of Gaza to be safe. Through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
