Sadducees

A group of Jews, often mentioned alongside the Pharisees in the Gospels, but very different from them. We know much less about the Sadducees than about the Pharisees but they seem to be a group of aristocratic Jews, particularly connected with the Temple. Unlike the Pharisees they only accepted the written law (not oral law) and did not believe in resurrection.
