My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
'I own an estate agents’, and have been furloughed. I know people are struggling, but for me and my family it’s been positive. I have been able to spend a lot of time with my kids. I don’t work regular hours normally and when I’m at home, my head’s still at work. So, this has been a really good experience.
'I have three children. My little girl was born in October. It’s been wonderful for the five of us to be together. We have been doing lots of playing, messing around, trips to the park and lots of encouragement to do school work with varying degrees of success.
'After this, I want to structure my time better and commit to that time with my family, rather than being here, there and everywhere.
'I’ve been encouraged by the story of Paul and Silas in Corinthians. They were in prison, in lock down, yet they prayed, sang hymns and cared about the other prisoners and the jailer. When the earthquake happened, they didn’t escape, they stayed for the sake of the jailer. And because of that, he met with the living God.
'That, in particular, has made me think about the purpose of lock down. What’s my response to it? Do I look forward to when I can get out, or do I think about how I can learn from this situation and benefit others? That’s so much more helpful than selling a house or winning another contract. There are implications from this, and I don’t know the answers yet. But there will be changes.'
