Tears were shed as people in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region of southern Ukraine received Bibles recently.

A team from the Ukrainian Bible Society travelled to the embattled region carrying aid and Bibles.

Anatoliy Rachynets, deputy general secretary, said, ‘I saw many tears and many thankful faces. People said that the Bible was the most precious gift in this situation.’

The 700 Bibles that he had taken to distribute were ‘not enough’ he reported.

The team stopped to talk to Ukrainian soldiers who had lost more than a dozen of their colleagues the previous day. The soldiers took Bibles and asked the team to pray for them.

Anatoliy stood in the middle of the road, alongside the troops’ tank and prayed for the young soldiers.

Your donations have made it possible to transport more Bibles into Ukraine during the summer.
