My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
'I grew up near Turin, in three valleys where the Waldensian Church was. The way of life was that this was it, you had been put there by God, do your best, work hard and don’t expect things to just happen.
The school I went to was linked to the church, next door. I remember my grandfather going to church with his Bible. The Bible was just a way of life. I came to England when I was 19. T
here were many years, when I was working in catering, when I didn’t go to church. And I really regret not sending my children to Sunday School. During my wife’s illness, I would pick up the Bible and read. I love the King James Version. I love it. She died in 2011.
We had been married for 52 years. For me, the Bible as a whole guides you in how to live. I’m happy with that. You can open it wherever and find inspiration. Most of the New Testament is about love. The Bible is part of my life. It’s something different, something special. It’s life.'
