My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
‘I have the words from Ephesians 2.10 hanging on a plaque in my bedroom. I see it every morning when I wake up. It says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for you to do.”
This really helps me, because it helps to know that we are all unique, special, made in God’s image. It’s okay to be different. A lot of people try to fit in, but I say, “No, be yourself!”
I set up my leadership coaching company efiL Coaching in 2006-7. I’m coaching managers to have integrity, impact and to be influencers. I can’t quote these verses in the business environment, but it is all about getting people to realise what’s important to them and to see how they are going to stand by it.
Setting up the business was quite scary. There were some moments when I doubted and went back to consultancy, because I knew there was an income there. But I stopped doing that. I’ve learned to rely on God to pay my bills and open the doors. It’s been so helpful knowing that God has prepared the way.
You won’t make a difference if you stay in your own comfort zones. I want to help people turn their lives around.’
