My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
'Improving the farm and the land has always been one of my aims. It was important to my father before me. He was improving the land back in the 1960s. Then it was my turn.
If you have good grassland and good stock, you can’t go wrong. It’s exactly like the story that Jesus told of the farmer who goes out to sow seed. It’s easy to understand.
We have rocky places. We have lots of thorny parts and we have good fields as well. So it’s easy to understand that there is no point in putting seeds on hard ground where they won’t grow. They will be choked by thorns. But if the seed falls on the good land it will grow.
I grew up in a family where the Bible was there the whole time. I never doubted it. And so, I have always accepted Christ’s love. It’s easy to do when you live here. It’s also easy for me to understand about Jesus being a shepherd, as it says in John 10:14. And I understand about lost sheep. If there is one that is missing we will do anything to find them.’
