My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible
‘Luke 23.34 is the most powerful verse in the Bible for me. It’s where Jesus is hanging on the cross and says, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”
‘Forgiveness for me is personal and real. If Jesus talked about forgiveness, I have to talk about it and then I have to demonstrate it. So, to be authentic in my faith, I have to live it out.
‘Forgiveness makes you more peaceful. It’s not a daily act of will, but far more a natural thing to do for me. I feel peaceful and calm because I don’t feel burdened by unforgiveness. I don’t have any unforgiveness.
‘I am a schools’ worker. I want to be real. Forgiveness is part of that. It’s not easy. But I just let things go. I always say the world won’t end if something doesn’t happen. That generally is my approach. I have found it is not too difficult to do.’
