My favourite verse is 1 Peter 1.8

My Bible: reasons to believe in the power of the Bible

'My favourite verse is 1 Peter 1.8. It says, "Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory."

There were people when that was written that felt like that and I feel it 2000 years later. It makes me think that I have brothers and sisters throughout time. It tells me that God is my rock. He’s who I can lean on.

He’s the point of reference when it comes to getting through the day. He’s the friend who’s there, though I can’t see him. I’m a nurse. I work in a critical care unit.

We have a lot of very poorly patients and some who are getting better. It’s a challenge. This verse helps me every day. We have a lot of patients who are aggressive. Some people have been shot and their family come in, and they’re gangsters. You are a nurse, a security guard.

I love the contact with people. And each patient could be an angel, couldn’t they? You just don’t know.'
