Exile was the theme of this year’s Bible Society Magi Initiative. And for some church leaders from the Middle East who came to Cambridge for the conference, exile has been a daily reality.

The Magi Initiative in Cambridge heard how Christian women across the world face double discrimination for being women, and for their faith. 

Fiona Bruce MP has launched the Magi Initiative of The Bible Society by highlighting attacks on the church in parts of Ukraine that are under Russian occupation.

Senior church leaders from the Middle East are converging on Cambridge today. They are attending a Bible Society initiative to support Christian communities facing growing pressure in the region.

Demand for the Bible grows daily in Ukraine. That can be from people who have lost all their possessions, including their Bible, or from those who have never had a copy before.

Over the last eight weeks, Kyiv’s Bible House has been transformed into a hub not only the distribution of Bibles, but also much-needed humanitarian aid too.
